Artist Estelle Grengs; Estelle Studio & Gallery, Freeport, Florida

After more than two decades of living, working, and traveling in the U.S. and abroad as a military family, Estelle and her husband Matt chose Freeport, Florida as their forever home.  Estelle’s New England roots gave her an inborn love of the ocean and coastal subjects, and Freeport provides the perfect inspiration for her unique artistic vision.  Drawn from a cosmopolitan palate, Estelle’s vibrant and lively artwork has found admirers the world over.  Her paintings are at once playful and evocative – sure to both bring a smile and start a conversation.  As an entrepreneur, business owner, creator, and volunteer, Estelle is devoted to her community. Through her unique artistic vision, Estelle brings life and joy to the Florida Gulf Coast.

In 2018, Estelle’s artwork splashed onto the local arts scene when her painting, “Lobstah,” was selected as the poster winner for the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation Festival.  At the same festival, she took home the People’s Choice Award for best overall portfolio.  Since spring 2019, Estelle has enjoyed greater exposure as the featured cover artist on Newman and Daily’s Where You’d Rather Be magazine, which is distributed along the Gulf coasts of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.  In further recognition of her work, in summer 2019, Estelle was selected to be a highlighted artist for the Watersound Origins Sidewalk Art Display. Most recently, Estelle’s work, “Creative Journey” has been chosen as the 2021 Mattie Kelly Poster contest winner.  Estelle is honored to be the first artist to receive this recognition three times.

Estelle is a featured artist in many local galleries, including the J.Leon Gallery, The Studio at Grayton Beach, and Big Mama’s Hula Girl Gallery in Blue Mountain Beach.  Her artwork is featured commercially at sites like overstock.com, wayfair.com, zulily.com, and Better Homes and Gardens at bhg.com.  In an exciting new venture, Estelle has opened Estelle Studio and Gallery, her own 1,800 square foot space in Freeport, Florida, where she exhibits her art for sale and teaches a variety of art mediums and techniques.

Estelle regularly donates her time and talent to help raise funds for local agencies such as Shelter House, Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, The Treehouse Episcopal Montessori School, Seaside Florida Elementary School, Military Resiliency, Taylor Haugen Foundation, and the Destin Banner Project.
